Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know what class is best for my child?

At Heritage Hall Academy, we recognize that every child is unique, and learning is not one-size-fits-all. While we offer a general age-based structure, we prioritize flexibility to ensure each student is placed in the environment where they will thrive best.

During the first few weeks, each student will spend time with the director for a personalized assessment. This process helps us understand their strengths, learning style, and developmental readiness, allowing us to determine whether they are prepared to advance to the Navigators class or would benefit from additional time with the Pioneers.

At HHA, students are not restricted by traditional grade levels but are placed based on their age, developmental stage, and individual needs. Our goal is to provide a supportive and enriching experience that allows each child to progress confidently at their own pace.

Can I enroll my child for a year and then return them to public school?

Legally, your child has the option to return to public school at any time; however, we strongly encourage consistency in their educational journey to support long-term success. Frequent transitions between learning environments can disrupt progress and adjustment.

At Heritage Hall Academy, our curriculum is designed to be flexible and student-centered, tailored to each learner’s needs, strengths, and interests. While we incorporate the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards, our scope and sequence follow a customized approach that does not directly align with traditional public school pacing throughout the year. This allows us to provide a rich, engaging, and personalized education that fosters deeper learning and real-world connections.

I am already homeschooling my child, could they still enroll?

Absolutely! At HHA we value a strong partnership with parents and believe that education is most effective when it extends beyond the classroom. Whether you're looking to enhance your current homeschool curriculum, supplement specific areas, or utilize HHA as a full-time learning experience, we are here to support your child’s academic journey.

We also encourage continuity between home and school, ensuring a seamless learning experience that aligns with your family's educational goals. Additionally, we offer drop-in days throughout the year, where both enrolled and non-enrolled students can join us for the day to experience our unique learning environment.

Do you take payment plans?

Absolutely! We believe that every child deserves access to a quality education, and we strive to make Heritage Hall Academy as accessible as possible. While we would love to offer our services at no cost, maintaining a high-quality learning environment requires financial support.

To accommodate families, we offer discounts for annual tuition paid in full, as well as flexible payment options, including monthly and weekly plans. If financial concerns are a barrier, please reach out to us—we may be able to help you find a sponsor. As our academy grows, we are committed to expanding opportunities and hope to offer scholarships in the future.

Are uniforms a requirement?

We value a neat, professional, and comfortable learning environment, and student appearance plays a role in fostering that atmosphere. However, rather than setting a predetermined dress code, we believe this is a decision best made in collaboration with our founding families. As one of the first families at Heritage Hall Academy, you will have the opportunity to help establish guidelines that will shape this expectation for future students.

What supplies are needed when we enroll?

All daily supplies are included in tuition, ensuring students have everything they need for a seamless learning experience. However, we do require each student to have a personal device—such as a laptop, Chromebook, tablet, or phone—for research and educational activities. While these devices won’t be used every day, they are an essential tool for certain projects and assignments. Devices can be brought to and from school daily.

When are payments due?

The first payment will be due upon enrollment/registration. Each payment after that will be due at the first of the month starting September 1st through May 1st. If you choose the extended school year calendar, payments will continue on the first of each applicable month. If you choose the annual option, payment is due before July 1st or upon enrollment.

Will you be accepting ESA vouchers?

At Heritage Hall Academy, our foundation is built on the principle of serving children in the way they need, with no restrictions or one-size-fits-all standards. We believe in providing a personalized, flexible learning environment that allows every student to thrive without the limitations that can sometimes come with traditional systems.

While we fully support public schools and their commitment to serving all students, regardless of environment, disability, or financial situation, we feel that accepting vouchers would impose oversight and stipulations that do not align with our educational philosophy. We are committed to supporting public schools and the incredible work they do to accommodate every child, and we believe that vouchers would be a contradiction to the core values that Heritage Hall Academy was founded upon. Therefore, we are unable to accept them.

Is my child considered a ‘homeschooler’ or ‘private schooler’?

In the state of Texas, homeschooling is recognized as a form of private school. giving families the flexibility and freedom to tailor their child’s learning experience. At HHA, we provide a structured support by maintaining records, tracking skill mastery, and reporting progress to parents. However, your child will still be considered a homeschooler, allowing you to retain the benefits and freedoms that come with homeschooling while still receiving the guidance and resources of our learning community.
